This Spring we were honored to be a major sponsor for the Eventeract conference in it’s inaugural year. Produced by the Georgia Chapter Meeting Planners Association (GaMPI), the conference was geared towards engaging the meeting and special events planner. The partnership was win-win; it gave Amusement Masters the opportunity to showcase to an audience of planners and it gave attendees two days of play that enhanced the learning experience.
On both conference days Amusement Masters maintained a booth on the expo floor. This gave us an ideal space for meeting with attendees and giving them a small taste of our game and amusement inventory. Our booth was Western inspired and featured the Wild West Quick Draw, our Western Shootout arcade game and our newest game, “Hit The Hero.” The decor was straight from the Wild West with western fencing and barrel decor items. We even brought in comfortable leather seating for guests looking to kick back and take a load-off as they made their way through the expo.
On the first evening of the conference we placed games throughout the conference’s signature fundraiser “The Gathering.” The event theme was “Back to the 80’s.” We loved this theme because it opened the door to bring in a variety of 1980’s Arcade Games and Pinball Machines, our Classic Strip Photo Booth and our new 2014 Instagram Interactive Booth. All in all, Amusement Masters helped keep the 80’s vibe alive that night.

Held in Atlanta, Georgia and powered by the Southeast’s most influential associations, Eventeract featured 90,000 square feet of education, innovation and networking covering a variety of disciplines including, but not limited to: Corporate and Association events, Food & Beverage, Meeting Design, Décor & Event Design, Meeting Planning Strategies, Tactics & Design, Technology, Audio Visual, Incentives, Revenue Management, Sales, Revenue Management and DMC Services. What can we do, you ask? At Amusement Masters we believe that our passion for games CAN make a difference. We’re proud to announce that we’re an active participant in the Safe 2 SERV project – a SERV International initiative currently deploying up to 100 water filtration systems annually throughout the world. Through this initiative something as simple as $65 can provide water for a family of five for up to ten years!
In promoting the Safe 2 SERV project we’ve developed a way for communities, corporate teams and schools to adopt this initiative and have fun doing it. For less than the cost of booking a team building game or scavenger hunt with Amusement Masters you can book a Safe 2 SERV kit. For a nominal fee you can purchase water filtration buckets that your organization decorates with inspiring messages and that SERV International distributes to communities in need.
A recent successful use of our Safe 2 SERV kit was for the University of Florida who purchased a kits for their charity night of “Gators Give Back.” Fourteen bucket kits were beautifully decorated and returned for distribution around the world to provide clean drinking water for fourteen families…for the next ten years. We love that SERV International has made global change personal and we’re proud to be part of this movement!
Event professionals, producers and planners around the world have always found The Special Event (TSE) conference to be an invaluable resource for education, networking and creative solutions. Game Girl Gigi wants to make your next event a rockin’ success!
Football, America’s pastime, throwing the ole’ pigskin. I don’t know if you are excited, but I sure am! Whether you like college football, NFL, or just like attending high school games, there is no denying the excitement for football is here. Tension has been building with the NFL lockout all summer long but now that it is finally over football fans everywhere can celebrate! So what does that mean? Being who I am, all I can say is “event!” Don’t know how to plan a football themed event? That is what I am here for! I am going to go over some basic things you need to consider to help you achieve the perfect football themed event!
Budget. You must know your budget before you begin. Once you have gotten your budget, figure out what you are looking for and how much you are willing to spend to achieve the results you want. Write out what you are willing to spend more or less on. Detail your budget so you know exactly how much you can spend on all the little things and al the big things.
Audience. Who are you targeting? What kind of football do they like to watch? If you are working for a college, you might want to focus on the college team on campus. If you are working for a company, maybe you want to focus on college and NFL teams. Maybe you could even incorporate some Fantasy Football into your event.
Venue. Where are you going to host the event? Is it accessible? Does it cost anything for you to rent out? Is it at a location that your audience can easily get to? Think about your audience when choosing your event?
Advertising. How is your targeted audience going to be informed of your event?
Purpose. What is the purpose of your event? What will be occurring at the event? Be creative! There is so much you can do with a football theme! I am sure you know by now that Atlanta has pretty much been crippled by a winter storm. The 6″ of snow we received probably would not have been as big of a deal if Mother Nature had not also decided to give us a nice layer of ice on top of it. So, as I sit here trapped inside by the snow and ice, I thought, why not work on some Winter Wonderland themed events. I know what you are thinking – forget winter, I am ready for the tropical theme. But trust me, come August and the 90 degree temperatures, you will be longing to have an event with this awesome theme.
We start off with some simulators. Test your skills on a the ski slopes with the Alpine Ski Racer. Want something a little edgier? Try snow boarding with our Alpine Surfer. Have you ever dreamed of riding a snow mobile through the city…if so, the Arctic Thunders are perfect for you. We even link 2 of them together so you can race head to head against someone else.
